Harlingen:
Julie Sue Ayres Torgerson of Harlingen passed away April 1, 2013, at Valley Baptist Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Julie was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and had been a resident of Harlingen for 30 years. She was a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
She was preceded in death by her father Vernon D. Ayres.
Julie is survived by her husband, Peter; her daughters, Kelsey Torgerson of Dallas and Courtney Rose Torgerson of Harlingen, and her son Nicolas Torgerson of Harlingen; her sister, Juhree Fletcher of Los Angeles, California; and her mother, Carthell Biddy Ayres of Harlingen; and her beloved yellow lab, Shelby.
The family would like to thank all of the staff in MICU unit at Valley Baptist Medical Center and Doctors Nolan Perez and Brian O’Donnell.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Treasure Hills Presbyterian Church, 2120 N. Ed Carey Drive in Harlingen at 3 p.m., with the Reverend Charlie Palmer presiding.
Private burial services are planned in Oklahoma.
