Julia Garza Mendoza

July 30, 1927 — September 12, 2017

Julia G. Mendoza, 90, passed away Tuesday, September 12th in Grapevine, Texas. She was born July 30, 1927 to Edubijes & Nicolasa Garza of San Benito, Texas.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years Roberto Mendoza and three Brothers: Gilberto Garza, Genaro Garza and Baldemar Garza.

Mrs. Mendoza in survived by Felita (Frank E.) M. Ramirez, Grandchild-Rocky Ramirez and Great Grandchild-Roberto Gael Ramirez.

Mrs. Mendoza received an Associate in Business from Durham’s Business School in Harlingen and a Cake Decorating Certificate from TSTC in Harlingen. She retired from the Cameron County Water District No.2 after 32 years of service. A lifelong member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. CCD director and affiliated with the  St. Judes League, United in Faith Chairperson for Brownsville Dioceses. Her hobbies included cake decorating, cooking for others, planning family & friend get-togethers and floral arrangements.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in San Benito. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Lupe Garza, Rolando Garza, Mark Garza, Gus Ramirez, Jim Ellis, Rocky Ramirez, Leo Ramirez and Ismael Vaid.
