Juanita "Janie" Ruiz

Juanita “Janie” Ruiz 67 passed away Friday morning July 20, 2018. She was born in San Benito on June 26, 1951 to Amador and Berta H. Ruiz, Sr. Janie graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 1971. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas, and an avid fan of George Strait. Janie loved life to its fullest and her legacy to her family will live on forever. We will miss her greatly. Preceded in death by her parents Amador Ruiz, Sr. & Berta H. Ruiz; brother, Amador Ruiz, Jr; sister-in-law Irma G. Ruiz; brother-in-law Carlos Soto. Left to cherish her memories are: Maria Inez (+Carlos) Soto, Lupita Ruiz, Robert (+Irma G.) Ruiz, Jose (Anna) Ruiz, Amalia “Molly” (Robert) Cowger, and sister-in-law Lourdes (+Amador) Ruiz. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of the Universe in San Benito with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Honor to serve as pallbearers will be: David Ruiz, Sr., Amador Ruiz, III, Joe Soto, Javier Ruiz, Jon Ruiz, and DJ Cowger. Honorary Pallbearer will be Rodolfo Ruiz, Joe Ray Ruiz, David Ruiz, Jr., Daniel Ruiz, Christopher Alaniz, and Brandon Camacho.
