Juanita Odilia C. Lambert, 87, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at her residence. Juanita was born February 15, 1923 in Raymondville, Texas to Juan Cavazos and Estefana Nuez. She resided in Harlingen where she owned and operated Andy’s Locksmith from 1979 to 2008. Juanita was member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, gunsmithing and spending time with her family and her pets.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Andrew Cantu and Rosendo Roberto Cantu.
Juanita is survived by her children, Joe V. (Angie) Cantu of Birmingham, Alabama, Delilah L. (Kris) Hochstetler of Harlingen, Texas, Kenneth Lambert of Harlingen, Texas and Alfredo G. (Connie) Garcia of Raymondville, Texas; sister, Esperanza “Curly” (Abe) Lozano of Kyle, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew John Cantu, Leonard M. Cantu, Joey (Nancy) Cantu, Jennifer Nail, David Cantu, Matthew J. Lambert and Justin W. Lambert; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; her long haired chihuahua, Lizard; and her cat, Lisa.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 10 a.m., at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria with Pastor Ed Weber officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1532, Harlingen, Texas 78551-1532 or the Humane Society of Harlingen, 1106 Markowsky, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
