Juana Resendez Vasquez

Juana Resendez Vasquez, 77, peacefully passed from this life on July 12, 2021.  She was born to the late Juan and Josefa Resendez on January 9, 1944 in San Benito, Texas.

Juana worked as a supervisor at Six L’s Packing Company for almost 20 years before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, José Homero Vasquez; her daughter, María Alicia Vasquez; her parents, Juan and Josefa Resendez; brothers, Gilberto and Roberto Resendez; and sister, Irma Resendez Zamora.

Left to treasure her memory are Juana’s children, Gracie (Jessie) Villarreal, Leticia Herrera, Teresa (Arturo) Espinoza, and María Angelita (Abel) García; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Olivia (Jose) Martínez, Gloria Gil, Raul (Terry) Resendez, and Ruben Resendez.

The Vasquez family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. (Click the link below to view a live-stream webcast of the recitation of the Holy Rosary service.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Noel Herrera Jr., Eugene Herrera, Michael Lee Vasquez, Jesse Villarreal Jr., Raynaldo Ramos, and Richard Ramos.  Honorary pallbearers are Ruben Resendez, Raul Resendez, and Mark Resendez.
