Juan De Dios Gonzales

Juan De Dios Gonzales, 84, of Los Fresnos, TX passed away on June 25, 2024, in Harlingen, TX. He was born on May 6, 1940, in Los Fresnos, TX to Amador Gonzales and Simona Martinez and grew up alongside his many siblings. Juan, as a lifelong Los Fresnos resident, built a wonderful life alongside his wife of almost 60 years, Maria Beatriz Hernandez. He was a loving husband, proud father, caring grandfather, and a great friend to many.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Maria Martinez, and 6 older brother, Andres, Aristeo, Norberto, Juan, Manuel, and Felix Gonzales.

He is survived by his wife, and children; Bertha Gonzales (Jose Oliva); Leticia Gonzalez (Marco Gonzalez); Amador Gonzalez (Marisa Tijerina); Armando Gonzalez; Rosa Gonzalez Reyes. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

His family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the hospital staff and the doctors who ensured he was comfortable and taken care of as he passed on to his next life.

Juan lived a very full life filled with immense love, laughter, and many scratch-off tickets. He left a wonderful legacy in his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

The Gonzales family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Sunday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos. Services for Juan De Dios Gonzales will conclude after the Mass.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Amador Gonzalez, Armando Gonzalez, Jose Oliva, Jacob Tijerina Gonzalez, Joshua Tijerina Gonzalez, and Aiden Gonzalez.
