SAN BENITO, TX. – Juan F. Gomez, age 59, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Harlingen, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Isaac and Cecilia Martinez; by his paternal grandparents, Luciano and Maria Gomez; by his maternal uncle, Raul Martinez; and by his paternal aunt, Bertha Jalomo.
Juan is survived by his loving parents Francisco and Elvia Gomez; by his sisters Alma Sylvia (Arnold) Garcia, Nelda (Enrique “Henry”) Cruz, Lourdes Gomez; and by his brother Javier (Norma) Gomez. He is also survived by his nieces Ariel Cruz and Clarissa Gomez; nephews Noah Gomez, Nicholas Gomez, and Nathan Gomez; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was born on April 11, 1955. Juan was employed with Reef Industries for 29 years and was most recently employed with S.B.C.I.S.D. (Landrum Elementary). He was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Community.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014, between the hours of 1:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M., with a recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for seven o’clock Friday evening.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2014, departing the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel at 9:45 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the hour of ten o’clock in the morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Committal services will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Javier Gomez, Enrique Cruz, Arnold Garcia, Raul Moreno, Jr., Adan Romeo Jalomo, and Francisco C. Gonzalez are honored to serve as Juan’s pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ariel Cruz, Noah Gomez, Nathan Gomez, Nicholas Gomez, Clarissa Gomez, Michael Jalomo, and Cristobal Gonzalez, Jr.
