Mr Juan Antonio Garcia

June 27, 1957 — February 28, 2017

Juan Antonio Garcia Sr., 59, of San Benito, Texas was born on June 27, 1957 to Juan and Lile Garcia, and entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

From a very young age Juan proved to be a hard working individual. As a young boy he traveled up north to Nebraska and California to work in the fields alongside his parents and younger siblings. Juan later retired from Levis Strauss in San Benito after 25 years of service, and was also the proud owner of the Gas Station Bar in San Benito.

Juan was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed taking his bike out for a ride around town. He was a kind individual who was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be missed by all who knew him.

Juan is preceded in death by his father, father-in-law Ubense Gonzalez, and mother-in-law Enriqueta Gonzalez. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rosie Garcia, four children, Laura (Higinio Jr.) Abrego, Jennifer (Michael) Esquivel, Juan Antonio Jr. (Tracey), Andrew Garcia, and two grandsons, Ian Alexander Abrego, and Luke Riley Esquivel all of San Benito. He is also survived by his mother, three brothers, Dionicio Garcia, Lupe Garcia, and Jesus Garcia, three sisters, Dolores Trevino, Terri Sandoval, Adelaida Garcia, and numerous other relatives.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mr. Garcia’s nephews, Jeff Nuñez, Reynaldo Garza, Sr., Edward Nerio., Rey Garza Jr., Ovidio Gonzales Jr., and Guadalupe Garcia Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the San Benito Funeral Home located at 1400 W. U.S. Highway77, San Benito. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
