Joyce was employed by the State of Kansas prior to her retirement before moving to Texas. She was a bit of a trail blazer for women working with computers as she was one of the first women employed as a computer program analyst for the State of Kansas. Since then she has always been an early adopter of computer hardware and software. Never being one to shy away from technology you could often find her with both her Kindle and her iPad at her side.
Joyce and her husband Leonard were originally from Topeka, Kansas but have called Harlingen, Texas home for the past 24 years. She has been an active member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Harlingen for the entire time she and her husband Leonard have lived in Harlingen. She loved working cross word puzzles and playing words with friends with many people online. She dedicated much of her spare time to her family genealogy for both her family as well as her husband’s family and leaves an extensive set of volumes detailing her research for the benefit and education of her family.
