Josue Daniel Garza joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 12, 2024, in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by his loving family and friends. Danny was born on August 13, 1969 in Uvalde, Texas to Josue George Garza and Raquel De Leon-Garza.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Raquel De Leon-Garza who went to be with the Lord in 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Debbie Aguero-Garza, and his son Joshua Luke Garza. He is also survived by his father, Josue George Garza Jr. of Uvalde, Texas, and his brother, Ronald B. Garza, also of Uvalde, Texas.
Danny was born and raised in Uvalde, Texas and graduated from Uvalde High School in 1987. He then furthered his education at Latin American Bible Institute in San Antonio, Texas, where he graduated with his associate’s degree. He then attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree. Danny began his ministry as a youth Pastor at Betania Church (now known as Abundant Life Church) in Harlingen, Texas, where he served in Harlingen for two years. It is in this time that he married the love of his life, Debbie Garza, on December 28, 1991 in Uvalde, Texas. They continued their ministry as Youth Pastors in Uvalde, Texas at Templo Christiano Church, before accepting a position as a Senior Pastor at New Wine Assemblies of God Church in Hereford, Texas where he served for several years. Danny was then hired as a Youth Pastor at Templo Calvario in Santa Ana, California under the leadership of his uncle Daniel De Leon Sr. After a couple years as Youth Pastor, he accepted the position as Associate Pastor in which he served and ministered to many people in the Orange County/Los Angeles area. After 11 years serving in Southern California, Danny and his family moved back to Uvalde, Texas. Danny was then hired as an associate Pastor at Templo Christiano in Uvalde, where he served under the leadership of Pastor Eddie De La Rosa. Following his time in Uvalde, Danny returned to Harlingen as a senior pastor at Abundant Life Church. He served there for the past seven years prior to his passing. Him and his wife loved their job and cared for their church family as if they were their own. His ministry and his teachings have touched the lives of many people all over, he loved to preach and he loved to serve his community. Danny also had a huge heart for Missions and instilled a focus on Missions in his church. He, along with his wife Debbie, loved to develop new missionaries and ministers through their Champion of Faith program, which is still going very strong at Abundant Life Church.
The family of Danny would like to thank their church family for their continued prayers and support. They hope that the church will continue to follow Pastor Danny’s vision to Evangelize, Train, and Commission new believers for the Lord. He will be missed very much, but his family finds peace in the fact that they know where he is, and that they will be with him soon.
