José Luis "Joe" Rodríguez

José Luis “Joe” Rodríguez, of Los Fresnos, Texas, peacefully passed from this life on December 12, 2021 at 44 years of age.  He was born to the late Ramón Rodríguez and Raquel Olmos Rodríguez on June 7, 1977 in Miami, Florida.

Joe was a proud Los Fresnos Falcon, Class of 1996.  His friends and classmates will always remember him for his personality and his love of sports, especially football.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ramón Rodríguez, and his brother, Ruben Rodríguez.

Left to treasure Joe’s memory is his mother, Raquel O. Rodríguez; his siblings, Juan N. (Tina) Rodríguez, Ramón (Consuelo) Rodríguez, Jr., Diana (Pedro) Gómez, María del Carmen (Oscar) Torres, Jaime E. (Esmeralda) Rodríguez, Miguel A. (Belinda) Rodríguez, Viviana Rodríguez (Santiago Gonzalez), Rene (Estela) Rodríguez; and, numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Msgr. Pedro Briseño leading. (Click the link below to view a live-stream of the Rosary service.)

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos with Rev. Msgr. Pedro Briseño, Celebrant. Following the Mass, Joe will be laid to rest at Los Cuates Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Pedro Gomez III, Joel Gomez, Oscar Torres III, Joseph Michael Rodriguez, Crystal Rodriguez, Jaime Rodriguez, Justin Rodriguez, and Mauro Castillo.

All past and present Los Fresnos Falcon student athletes will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The Rodriguez family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mauro Castillo, Robert Salinas, R.Ph. and the staff of Los Fresnos Pharmacy, Dr. Luis Reynoso, MD, Nurses That Care, and Los Fresnos EMS for their many years of compassionate care for Joe and the support they gave the family in caring for Joe.
