José Homero Cepeda

José Homero Cepeda, 63, passed peacefully from this life on November 5, 2022. He was born to the late Artemio Cepeda, Sr. and María de Jesús Cepeda on October 9, 1959 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México.

José Homero worked in agriculture his entire life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gilberto G. Cepeda; and a nephew, Christopher Hernandez.

Left to treasure José Homero’s memory is his loving wife, Juanita Cepeda; his children, José Homero Cepeda, Jr., Jessica A. Cepeda, Juan Carlos Cepeda (Beatriz), and Mark A. Cepeda (Liliana); and thirteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, José Artemio Cepeda, Jr. (Janie), José Humberto Cepeda (Eugenia), Dora (Jorge) Esquivel, Manuel Cepeda (Norma), Norma Hernandez, Sergio Cepeda (Erika), Elizabeth Barrón (Joey), and Arturo Cepeda (Erica).

The Cepeda family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 7 o’clock both evenings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 24380 W. US Highway 281, El Ranchito, Texas. Following the Mass, José Homero will be laid to rest at Esparza Cemetery.
