José Gilberto "Joe" De La Fuente, Jr.

José Gilberto “Joe” De La Fuente, Jr. peacefully passed March 25, 2023 at the age of sixty-six. He was born December 25, 1956 to the late José M. and Elida M. De La Fuente in San Benito, Texas.

Joe was a proud graduate of San Benito High School, Class of 1976. He loved to fish and to watch sporting events. He especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Joe’s parents preceded him in death. Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife of thirty-four years, Marina De La Fuente; his children, Joe (Jackie) De La Fuente III, Elida R. De La Fuente, and Nicholas De La Fuente; his siblings, Sylvia De La Fuente, Norma (Jesús) Castro, Gloria (Eduardo) Moncada, and Roel (Sarah) De La Fuente.

With his love of family, he would always ask for his nieces and nephews – Adri, Roni, Andrew, Maddy, Kenzie, Nancy, Becky, Edward, Marissa, Roel Jr., and Clarissa. His face would light up with a big smile when he would see pictures, videos, or just hear about their accomplishments.

The De La Fuente family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Services for José Gilberto “Joe” De La Fuente, Jr. will conclude Wednesday evening.
