Joseph “Joe” M. Koczan, Sr., 67, passed away on December 11, 2013 in Harlingen, TX.
Joe was born May 8, 1946 in Cleveland, OH to Michael and Josephine (Kleinhenz) Koczan. He attended St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, OH and the University of Detroit where he was a member of Theta Tau. Joe married Patricia Schultz on September 6, 1969. He was employed by Honeywell in Minneapolis, MN, San Diego, CA and Phoenix, AZ and by ITT in Raleigh, NC and Ft. Wayne, IN.
Joe is survived by his wife, Patricia (Schultz) Koczan of Harlingen, TX; daughter Ann Marie (Jason) Molyet of Mansfield, OH; son, Joe (Julie) Koczan, Jr.; grandchildren, Jaydon, Jonah and Julianna; sisters, Joan (Dom) Rossi of Mayfield Hts., OH and Theresa (Robert) Lembach of Columbus, OH; in-laws, Nancy (Ed) Zahorsky of Las Vegas, NV, Paul (Tammy) Schultz, Marlene (Fred) Charnoky, and Beverly (Warren) Ambler all of Cleveland, OH area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Josephine (Kleinhenz) Koczan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like thank the Atrium Place for their care and compassion over the last two year and a special thank you to Tilly Chavez, Joe’s caregiver for many years and to Clare Contreras you always brought a smile to his face and only you knew how to fluff his pillows just right.
“A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh.” When, Joe died part of Pat died with him, but a part of Joe lives on in Pat.
