Jose Isabel "Chavelo" Noyola peacefully passed from this life on Friday, January 23, 2021 at 91 years of age. He was born on November 19, 1929 in Los Fresnos, Texas to the late Jose Noyola and Silveria Patlan Noyola.
At the age of 25, Jose enlisted in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1955.
Jose and Bertha Jane Pugh fell in love, married, and made a wonderful life together. They were married for 61 years before Bertha's passing.
Before his retirement, Jose was a valued employee of the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District where, for many years, he was a bus driver.
Left to treasure Jose's memory are his children, Jose Edward (Audrey) Noyola, Roberto L. (Veronica) Noyola, Ricardo A. (David Fletcher) Noyola, Arthuro R. Noyola, Cynthia B. Ontiveros, Norma J. Noyola, James D. (Adriana) Noyola, Dora L. Castaneda; 29 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Jose was preceded in death by his wife Bertha Jane Pugh Noyola; son, Charles Albert Noyola; and daughter-in-law, Dora Villagomez Noyola.
The Noyola family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, January 27, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will begin at 7 o'clock on Tuesday evening. (Click on the link below to view a live-stream of the Prayer Service.) Funeral services for Jose Isabel "Chavelo" Noyola will conclude on Tuesday evening.
