Jose Armando Tamez

Jose Armando Tamez, 85, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024 in San Benito, Texas. He was born February 6, 1939 in San Benito, Texas to Felipe Tamez and Candelaria Rivera Tamez.

A proud graduate of San Benito High School, Jose's career path led him into partnerships with the Tire Co. and Firestone before establishing his own legacy as the owner of Tires Wheels and Auto Repair in Brownsville, San Benito, and Laredo. His unwavering commitment to his profession spanned an impressive 52 years until his well-deserved retirement.

He was preceded in death by his son, Aureliano Tamez; his parents, Felipe and Candelaria Tamez; and his brother, Edelmiro Tamez.

 Left to cherished Jose’s memory is his loving wife, Blanca Jaime Tamez; his children, Judith Cavazos (Daniel), Edith Tamez, Meredith Tamayo (Michael R.), Erendira Tamez, Aldo Tamez (Arely), Dino Tamez (Alma), Juliza Garcia (Michael), John Tamez, Audria Maltsberger (Derrell), and Tabatha Brotherton; 21 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

The Tamez family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer services will begin at 7 o’clock Monday evening. Following the service, Jose will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Aldo Tamez, Dino Tamez, David Aaron Garcia, Christian Daniel Tamez, Nikkolas Tamez, Elijah Caicedo, Ivan Hernandez and Dylan Brotherton. Honorary pallbearers are Ian Tamez and Jayden Brotherton.
