Mr. Jose Angel Padilla

Mr. Jose Angel “Grandpa Joe” Padilla, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was called to be with the Lord, our Savior, on Monday, May 27, 2013. A long-time resident of San Benito, TX, Jose Angel entered into the Kingdom of Heaven surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.
He was born in Goliad, TX on February 20, 1930 to Antonio and Guadalupe Padilla.
He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Guadalupe Padilla, his first born son Jose Angel Padilla Jr., his brother Mauricio Padilla, his sisters Hortencia Padilla, Oralia Padilla, Elvira Padilla, Ofelia Padilla Cardona and step-mother Manuela S. Padilla.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dominga Yzaguirre Padilla, married 63 years, his children: Diana Padilla, Dominga (Martin) Longoria, Elsa Martinez, Teresa (Adan) Cortez, Leticia Lopez, Melva Padilla, Joe (Belinda) Padilla, James Padilla, his brothers: Antonio, Alvino, Juan Renato, Rey Padilla, his sister: Olivia Amesquita and Enedelia Rodriguez. He will also be greatly missed by his 20 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Valley International Christian Center Church with Rev. Francisco Benavidez officiating. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
