Jose Luis “Bill” Montalvo, 65, entered into eternal life on October 1, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
Mr. Montalvo was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served on the USS Guadalupe AO-32. He was an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather and who was loving, generous, caring with a great sense of humor. “Houston we don’t have a problem.” For the love of the game we will always love you, Dad.
He was preceded in death by Fausto Esparza Montalvo, Hilaria Garcia Montalvo, Ruben Montalvo, Nelda Montalvo, Melba Montalvo Ramos, Fausto Montalvo Jr. and Enriqeta Laws.
He is survived by his children Pamela Montalvo, Rebecca Montalvo, Jacob (Jessica) Montalvo, Rosanna Montalvo, his grandchildren Bonnie, Felix, Ryan, Gavin, Gabriela, Penelope, Kassandra, Fabi, Olivia, Sofia, Isabella, Abigail, Kiley, one great-grandchild Hiram, his brothers and sisters Roberto (Annie) Montalvo, Beatrice Cortez, Raul Montalvo, Gustavo Montalvo and Alfredo Salazar.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2013 at San Benito Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church with Rev. Ignacio Luna officiating. Full military honor Funeral services will conclude after the service. As per his wishes, he will be cremated.
