Jose Luis Villarreal

Jose Luis “Pelon, La Aguilia” Villarreal, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at the age of 77.  He was born on February 1, 1941 to Francisco and Margarita Villarreal in San Benito, Texas.   La Aguilia was employed by the San Benito CISD and enjoyed fishing, wrestling, football, and especially the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mr. Villarreal was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Rosa Ramirez and Maria Elena Dominguez; brothers Domingo Villarreal, Reynaldo Villarreal, Guadalupe (Lupe) Villarreal and Horacio Villarreal.

He is survived by his wife, Fidela Cruz Villarreal; his children, Israel (Odessa) Villarreal, Ismael (Ana Marie) Villarreal, Irene (Elvin) Deleon, George (Terrie) Villarreal, Javier (Sonia Marie) Villarreal, Manuel (Janie) Villarreal, Melissa (Ricky) Razo, Miguel (Crystal) Villarreal, and Irma (Victor Jr.) Santillan, 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Olivia Sanchez, Efrain Villarreal, Armando Villarreal, Samuel Villarreal, and Maria Gloria Mercado.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Harlingen Medical Center, Solara Rehab Center and Kindred Hospice.

Visitation will be held at San Benito Funeral home on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.  Funeral services for Mr. Villarreal will conclude on Monday evening.
