El Calavoz, TX: Jose Guadalupe Benavidez, 84, of El Calavoz, TX passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his residence.
He and his wife, Idalia, lived 56 wonderful years of marriage together and saw his loving family grow with the passing of time; he was a member of Saint Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito.
He is preceded in death by his son, Ricardo Benavidez; a granddaughter, Judith Benavidez; his parents, Aniceto and Herlinda Benavidez; and a brother, Aniceto Benavidez, Jr.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Idalia Benavidez; his children, Maria Herlinda (Romeo) Belmares, Jose G. (Yolanda) Benavidez, Jr., Criselda (Jesus) Borjas, Armando (Noemi) Benavidez, Alma Rosa (Noe) Herrera, Marvelia (Ramon) Hernandez, Dolores (Jose) Ocanas, and Jesus (Alicia) Benavidez; 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; along with his brothers and sisters, Eduardo Benavidez, Consuelo Cruz, Maria Quiroz and Herlinda Cruz.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito with Father Martin De La Cruz officiating. Interment will follow to El Calavoz Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Romeo Belmares, Jesus Borjas, Noe Herrera, Ramon Hernandez, Jose Ocanas, and John Noah Belmares; honorary pallbearers will be Israel Borjas, Adrian Benavidez, Jose Angel “A.J.”Herrera, Ramon Hernandez, Jr., Jose A. Ocanas, Jr., and Jesus Benavidez, Jr.
