Jose G. Benavidez

Mulberry, FL/El Calavoz, TX: Jose G. Benavidez, Jr., 54, of Mulberry, FL/El Calavoz, TX passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Florida.

He was a graduate of San Benito High School; he was employed with HEB and retired after 25 years, with Dart’s Manufacting Co. for 10 years, and Sunshine State Dairy Farm in Florida; he was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito and a catholic church in Mulberry, Florida; he enjoyed horseback and motorcycle riding.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Benavidez; his father, Jose Guadalupe Benavidez, Sr.; his brother, Ricky Benavidez; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Jose is survived by his children, JoAnn (Adrian Tamez) Benavidez, Debbie Ann (Julian) Alcocer, Ricky Lee, Lezet, and Amanda; his mother, Idalia Benavidez; his longtime companion, Yolanda J. Benavidez; 7 grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Linda Belmares, Criselda Borjas, Armando Benavidez, Alma Herrera, Marvelia Hernandez, Dolores Ocanas and Jesus Benavidez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be prayed both evenings at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito with Father Martin De La Cruz officiating.  Interment will follow to El Calavoz Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Armando Benavidez, Jesse Benavidez, John Belmares, A.J. Herrera, Juan Saldana and Arturo Marquez.

He was a loving son, brother, husband and father.
