Port Isabel:
George A. Palacios passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen at the age of 65.
George was born in Mercedes, TX in 1946, the son of Silvester and Ida Palacios. He graduated from Mercedes High School and served with the National Guard. He lived in Harlingen for several years before moving to his “dream home” in Port Isabel in 1997.
George was a longtime employee with Hollon Oil Company where he worked in sales and made many friends. He formerly worked with A.O.C. in the Valley as well.
He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Garza and her husband, Manuel (Coonie); daughters, Carrie Palacios and Danielle Palacios; sons, Wesley Palacios and Ross Palacios and his wife, Genie, sisters-in-law; Tommie Robinson and her husband, Lee and Janet Reichel; five grandchildren, Fallon, Kegan, Tristen, Ezra, and Eden Palacios; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty M. Palacios in 2011 and his parents.
A memorial services celebrating the life of George, will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 31, 2012. True to the spirit of George, please dress casual preferably with a fishing shirt!
