Joe B. Rodriguez

Joe B. Rodriguez, 75, of San Benito, TX, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 24, 2023.

Joe, the eldest of eleven children was born on March 11, 1948, to Jose B. Rodriguez and Eudelia O. Rodriguez in Harlingen, Texas.

After Joe graduated from San Benito High School in 1966, he went on to study Education at The University of Texas-Pan American.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, he started his teaching career at Rio Hondo ISD. He went on to teach at several school districts for over 40 years.

Joe is survived by his loving and devoted wife Aurelia Rodriguez, his children Chris E. Rodriguez and Giselle Coreen Rodriguez. Joe is also survived by his four sisters, Lita Rodriguez, Gloria Robles, Linda Soto, and Terry (Danny) Gonzales; and his 5 brothers Roberto Rodriguez, Eloy Rodriguez, Leo (Janie) Rodriguez, Felipe Rodriguez, and Tommy Rodriguez, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Jose B. Rodriguez and Eudelia O. Rodriguez, and his brother Luis Rodriguez.

Joe B. Rodriguez was an avid Greyhound fan and never missed a game. He was always a joker and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. He will be remembered as a great teacher, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His family hopes he is driving a red Chevy Camaro through the heavenly golden gates. Joe, everyone you left in this world is heartbroken that you are gone, but we are happy that you are home and no longer in pain. We will always love and miss you until we can meet again.

Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in San Benito, TX on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 3:00 to 9:00pm.  A service celebrating his life will begin at 7:00 0’clock Thursday evening.  The  funeral will  depart from Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home to Mont Meta Memorial Park at 10:30am on Friday, December 29, 2023.
