Joanne Claire Kindley Bothwell, 88 years old, born July 31, 1935, in La Feria, Texas, peacefully rejoined the Heavens on February 7, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles Monard Kindley and Margeret Georgina Kirgan Kindley, as well as her husband, Charles “Chuck” Bothwell.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert Bothwell, Michael (Sally) Bothwell and Timothy (Heather) Bothwell; her daughter, Patricia (Charles) Hervey; her granddaughters, Jennifer (Jordan) Beck, Heather (Mario) Danek, Michaen Bothwell, Lauren Elizabeth (Jake) Berry, Jane Claire Hervey (Manik Raj Nakra), Sarah Bothwell, JoAnn Hervey, and Natalie Bothwell; her grandsons, Ryan Bothwell, Marshall Bothwell and Michael Hervey; her great-grandchildren, Skylar Pokrass, Ella Denmon, Ashton Beck, Oliver Harlow Danek, Charlotte June Bothwell and Elizabeth Briggs Berry; her brother, Kirk Kindley; and a caring community of extended relatives and friends.
Joanne was a doting wife and loving community member. Charismatic and talented, she participated in one-act plays and pageants in her early years. Throughout her life, she also worked as a secretary for Harlingen ISD, impacting the lives of children far and wide. She was the ultimate best friend to all of her kids and grandkids, who fondly called her “Beme.” She was the kind of mother you could take both fishing and to the mall. She was looked up to for her artful resourcefulness, witty grace and inimitable style. Stunning in all respects, she diligently nurtured a beautiful life in South Texas alongside her husband, Chuck-a family legacy that will only continue to grow.
As her family grieves her passing, they will hold Joanne’s wishes for Christian love, peace and kindness close. From the charming, wild tales of her childhood to her comforting lullabies, she will forever live on in their memories, their traditions and in the stories of generations to come.
