Jessica Anne McDonald
June 26, 1960 — August 10, 2017
Jessica Anne McDonald was 57 years of age and living in Harlingen when she died on Thursday, August 10, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.
Jessica was born on June 26, 1960 in Oceanside, CA to Gerald and JoAnn Backus. She grew up in Harlingen and graduated from Harlingen High School in 1978. After graduation she worked with Dollar Rental Cars in Harlingen and South Padre Island and then worked as a property manager for several apartment complexes in the Harlingen and San Benito area. She then began a career with Pittman & Davis where she was in charge of customer service for over 20 years.
Jessica attended several local Methodist church’s in the Harlingen area and was a member and President of the P.E.O. Chapter CT also in Harlingen.
She is survived by her son, Shane McDonald and Logan McDonald; sister, Shannon Davis; brothers, Jim Backus and Mike Backus; nieces, Chelsea Rumbo, Allison (Jacob) Grimes, Angel (Justin) Sothman; nephews, John Backus, Justin (Beth) Rumbo, Aaron McGinness; aunt, Jane Wandruff; cousin, Bridget Wandruff. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Maude McGinness and her parents.
Memorial services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 13, 2017 with the Rev. J.J. Wicke officiating.
