Jesse L. Wilbanks, resident of Harlingen, TX and member of First Christian Church, Harlingen, passed away January 4, 2014 in Harlingen.
He was born November 6, 1929 in Henderson Co., Texas to Tom A. and Rena M. Holley Wilbanks. Jesse attended schools in Montalba, Port Arthur, TX and Neosho Co. College in Chanute, KS.
Jess is survived by his wife, Mary L. Wilbanks, whom he married May 7th, 1951; two daughters, Vickie E. Hewitt of Paola, KS, Debra K. Vinyard of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandsons, Sonny W. Vinyard and Liz Vinyard, C. Aaron Vinyard and Michael R. Vinyard; one great grandson and a great granddaughter; two sons-in-law, George Hewitt and Vince Vinyard.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry D. Wilbanks; his parents, Tom and Rena Wilbanks; and one brother, F. Wallace Wilbanks.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014, 2 p.m., at First Christian Church in Harlingen with Rev. Mark Coppins officiating.
Burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, KS.
