Jerry Lee Presnall, 75, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
Jerry was May 12, 1935 in Harlingen, Texas to William Franklin and Grace Irene Presnall. He graduated from Harlingen High School in 1954 and had an Associate Degree in Engineering and Design drafting. Jerry was employed with the Department of the U.S. Army in Civil services as a Civil Engineering Tech, a Master Planner of Real Property, Director of Public Works, Engineering Plans and Services and had expertise of Military Construction Projects. He was also an Installation and Mobilization Planner at III Corps at Fort Hood in Fort Hood, Texas. While employed with Department of the U.S. Army, Jerry received several awards which included the Commanders Award for Civilian Service and a Certificate Award for Promoting Peace and stability of this nation during the Cold War. After 33 years of faithful service, Jerry retired on Dec 31, 1998.
He was a loving provider for his wife and son, a citizen police volunteer for the Harlingen Police Department, a volunteer for the Civil Air Patrol/U.S. Air Force Auxiliary of Brownsville, TX, and a member of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association of Harlingen.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Grace I. Presnall; wife, Helen Faye Presnall; and brothers, William Presnall, Jimmy Presnall, and Curtis Presnall.
He is survived by his son, Richard Lee Presnall of San Benito; his sister, Debbie Presnall Glick and her husband Bruce; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many many friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011, 10 a.m., at Ashland Memorial Park, 21037 Godwin Rd, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Harlingen Police Citizens Association, 1018 Fair Park Blvd, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
