Jennie Marie Collins, 97, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at her residence in Hesperia, CA.
Jennie was born on April 14, 1914 in Kopperl, TX to R.L. and Mary Whisenant. She was a former resident of Harlingen where she resided for over 40 years before moving to California to be closer to family. While living in Harlingen she was a member of the 7th St. Church of Christ.
Jennie is survived by daughter, Marietta Katherine Bilicic of Hesperia, CA; step-daughter, Bobbie Jeanette Rash of Boring, WA; grandchildren, Martin Hastings, Juanita Hastings, Larry Hastings, Shelly Hastings, Mikki Hastings, Ross Hastings, II and Edd Ives; step-granddaughter Shari Benevides. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Collins in 1993.
Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 am until service time, Friday, January 20, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 10:00 AM, Friday, January 20, 2012 with the Rev. Wayne Lowry officiating. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made to 7th Street Church of Christ, 2200 N. 7th, Harlingen, TX 78550.
