Jeannine Elkins, 73, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Jeannine was born on May 21, 1935 in Takoma Park, MD to Howard and Adeline Zook. She had been a resident of Harlingen for many years and attended the First Baptist Church. She loved making her jewelry, loved her cats and could always be found in her yard gardening.
Jeannine is survived by daughter, Rhonda Mull of St. Augustine, FL: son, Kevin Elkins (Catherine) of Cibolo, TX; grandchildren, Sara Elkins and Nathan Elkins of Cibolo, TX; brother, Dale Zook of Riverdale, MD; nieces, Sheree Edwards (Ray), Kim Zook, and Kelly Brinkley; and numerous friends and neighbors she loved and cared about.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Harlingen, 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 25, 2009 with the Rev. Chris Hall officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 501 E. Van Buren, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
