Harlingen:
Jean D. Moore, 89, passed away Friday evening, April 8, 2011 at her residence in Harlingen.
Jean was born July 2, 1921 in Greenville, Texas to Marvin and Ruth Dunn.   She attended schools in Lubbock and later attended from Abilene Christian College.
Jean was a longtime resident of the Valley living in McAllen, South Padre Island and Harlingen.  She was a member of the Junior Service League in McAllen, Harlingen Rotary Club, P.E.O. and attended 8th & Harrison Church of Christ and St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Harlingen.  Her interests were traveling, needlework and reading.
Jean is survived by children, David Moore, Didi Hammond (Randy) and Mike Moore (Lisa); grandchildren, Michelle Moore, Billy Moore, Andrew Moore, Sarah Todd, Catherine Smith and Philip Hammond; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill W. Moore, sister, Jo Anne, and brother, Marvin.
Visitation hours will be held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the family receiving friends and guest from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, April 11, 2011 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating.  Private entombment will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
The family request that those desiring to do so may make memorial donations to CIMA Hospice, 5003 N. McColl, McAllen, TX 78504 or to the P.E.O. Chapter T, 1806 High St., Harlingen, TX 78550.
