SAN BENITO, TX:
Jean Maureen Buesing Biggs Jenkins passed away on June 5, 2008 after a lengthy illness.
Jean was born on October 16, 1927 in San Benito, Texas to parents Herbert Buesing and Genie Temple. Jean graduated from San Benito High School in 1945 where she earned the American Legion Award. In 1952, she received her Bachelors in Education from the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of the Chi-Omega Sorority. Jean taught school at Frank Roberts Elementary in San Benito and also taught adult education classes for many years. She and husband Ralph worked the Lazy “S” Ranch near Bayview and then developed and operated El Camino Real Mobile Home Park in San Benito for 25 years. She will be remembered for modeling in many Valley style shows. Jean was a longtime member of All Saint’s Episcopal Church.
Jean is survived by sister, Jack Boswell, namesake niece, Jean (Tootie) Boswell Madden, nephews, Willie Boswell (Diana) and Chris Boswell (Anita), great nieces, Megan & Carrie Boswell, Nicole Boswell Horstmeyer, and nephews, Ross and Justin Madden, Steven Tol Boswell, Thomas Boswell, and several great great nieces and nephews.
Jean is also survived by dear friend Harriet Matz. The family is grateful for her care-givers, Norma Cariaga and Vickie Bolpes.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Jenkins and her beloved Schnauzer Pepe.
Services will be by Fr. Jerry Harris at All Saint’s Episcopal Church at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2008 with burial to follow at Mont Meta Cemetery.
