Jayne Dee (Farrar) Cox

May 31, 1939 — October 28, 2022

Jayne Dee Cox, 83, gained her angel wings on Friday, October 28, 2022. Jayne was born in Lozano, Texas on May 31, 1939.  She grew up in Port Isabel, Texas and graduated high school in Brownsville, Texas.

Gene and Jayne met at family friend’s house when they were young teenagers. They dated in high school and fell in love for life. They were married on December 28, 1958 and raised two beautiful girls. Jayne spent her early career working for JC Penny and Burke’s Flying Service before becoming the bookkeeper for Port Construction. Jayne and Gene also owned and operated Resaca Bend RV Park for many years. She later worked for the Harlingen Chamber of Commerce until retirement.

Jayne was the epitome of love. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Gene enjoyed traveling and exploring the mountain states together. She loved watching cooking shows, reading cookbooks, and making dinner for her family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, making arts and crafts, feeding and watching birds on her garden patio, and a good card game.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.D. and Mary Farrar; her in-laws, Edgar and Marjorie Cox; her brothers, Don Edward Farrar, Bob Mac Farrar, and Billy Wayne Farrar; her son, Stacy Shawn Cox; and her grandson, Nathaniel Aaron Rotan.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Gene Cox; her daughters, Debra Dawn (Danny) Perry and Stephanie Rotan; grandchildren, Gerald "Jerry" (Melissa) Perry and Niki (Robert) Kaiser; and great-grandchildren, Claryce Ann Perry, Violet Avery Perry, Robert Duwayne “Cuatro” Kaiser, IV, Elliette Dawn Kaiser, Briggs William Perry, Colt Daniel Perry and Riley Eugene Kaiser. She is also survived by her siblings, Larry Dean (Ofelia) Farrar and Sandra Darlene Nicholas, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jayne’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.
