Javier Salazar

Javier Salazar, 58, peacefully passed from this life on September 25, 2022. He was born October 15, 1963 to the late José and Rosa M. Salazar in Harlingen, Texas.

He owned and operated J&S Plumbing and had forty years of experience as a professional plumber. While Javier greatly enjoyed his chosen profession and the people that he served, he was an outdoorsman at heart. He was in his element when he was on his boat fishing the Arroyo Colorado and hunting. He also enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas.

Javier is preceded in death by his parents, José and Rosa M. Salazar; his brother, José Salazar Jr.; his sister, Irma Salazar; and niece, Christina Salazar.

Left to treasure Javier’s memory is his daughter, Josey S. (Reynaldo) Rodriguez; grandson, Matthew Rey; brother, Jaime (Emily) Salazar; nieces and nephews, Missy (Tanner), Jenny (Joe and their children, Rosie and Ori), Jakob, Derek, Chase, Mia, and Sebastian; and sisters-in-law, María and Bridget.

Javier’s family will receive relatives and friends Friday, September 30, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Liturgy to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Chapel A of the funeral home. Following the service, Javier will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jakob Salazar, Derek Salazar, Chase Salazar, Sebastian Salazar, Juan Manuel Salazar, Albert Escobedo, and Gabriel Quiroz.
