Jeanette “Jan” Kay Carter LeBleu, 76, of Harlingen, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in her daughter’s home in San Antonio, Texas.
Born December 13, 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Ray Allen Carter and Mary Kathleen Carter. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Ray Allen Carter, Jr.; and her son, James Stephen LeBleu. She is survived by her late brother’s wife, Linda Carter; her brother, Robert (Bob) Lloyd Carter (Jan); her daughter, Allyson LeBleu-Iracheta (José); her nephew, James Carter (Sue); her niece, Melissa Carter-Plaag (Michael;) and by all of us that she loved and those that loved her dearly.
Jan had a passion for her family, her love of anything art related and the color purple. She often went to art shows whenever she could and taught painting to all that would listen. Jan was active in the Harlingen Art Forum, the Willacy County Art League, the Upper Valley Art League and served on many boards throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Jan was a caring woman who spent most of her life thinking about others. She always surrounded herself with her family, her neighbors and loved ones, which is where she felt most comfortable and at peace.
Jan’s family will receive relatives and friends Friday, March 3, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.
