Jane Anne (Rush) Fordham, 64, went to be with her Lord on June 29, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. The youngest of four children, Jane was born April 21, 1958 to the late John Robert and Anna Cora (Rains) Rush in San Benito, Texas. She grew up in San Benito and was a graduate of San Benito High School.
Jane worked as a Material Control Manager at the Port of Brownsville for almost 35 years, first for Marathon LeTourneau and then for Keppel AmFELS. It was there, in 1992, that she met Mercer Euree “Mickey” Fordham. Mickey and Jane welcomed their daughter, Carol Anne, in 1994.
Jane was a loving and caring Christian woman who always put her faith and family first in her life. She lived her life for Christ and channeled his love through all she did. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend. Jane took Christ as her Savior and was baptized at First Christian Church of San Benito, where she remained a life-long member. She had a genuinely kind soul and loved to spend time with her family and dogs. Jane was greatly loved and will be missed very much by her family.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Fordham; her parents, John R. and Anna C. Rush; and her brother, John Rush, Jr.
Jane is survived by her children, Dr. Carol Fordham (Guillermo Cuevas) of San Antonio, Texas, and “adopted” daughter, Karla Adame of Laredo, Texas; sister, Dr. Jewel Day (Dr. Angela Trahan) of Houston, Texas; brother, Joel Rush (Lisa) of Katy, Texas; nieces and nephews, Christopher Day (Jillian) of Sugar Land, Texas, Erica Day of Baltimore, Maryland, Teresa Day of Houston, Texas, William Rush and Robert Rush of Katy, Texas; and her loving caregiver and friend, Mina Santa Maria of Los Fresnos, Texas.
The Fordham family will receive relatives and friends Friday, July 15, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will take place Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
