HARLINGEN:
Jane F. Scott, 89, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Harlingen Nursing Center.  Marion Jane Fischer was born January 30, 1918 in Beaver, Pennsylvania to Edward Harvey Fischer and Marion Lissa Barnett.
Jane was an executive secretary from 1936 until 1953 in Rochester, New York; Miami Beach, Florida; and Champaign, Illinois.  Her second career was a business skills teacher at Valley Central College and Texas State Technical Institute, both in Harlingen.  Jane loved helping people who wanted to help themselves to make better lives for themselves and their families. Her love for animals passed on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Weld Scott, Sr.
She is survived by her children:  Mark W. Scott, Jr. and wife Patti of Harlingen; Boyd Porter Scott of Corpus Christi; Mary-Jane Carlisle and husband Curt of Harlingen.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shea Bryson, Amber and Emily Carlisle and her great grandchildren Carter Scott and McKayla Bryson.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007, 1 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Rev. David Mann officiating.
