James Bodie Woods, 55, passed away on November 8, 2012 at his home. James was born October 9, 1957 in Beaumont, Texas to Sarah Clarice Preuett Hatcher and Harold Glendon Woods. He graduated from McAllen High School in McAllen, TX where he played football and baseball and excelled in both.  Bodie married Tina Marie Hardwick Woods. He was a multi-talented person and held jobs as a designer, salesman, business owner and singer musician and he also held an Electrical Signs license.  Bodie was a fan of NASCAR; which he loved and followed. Golf was one of his greatest loves. As an avid golfer in Las Vegas; he tried out for tour golf.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar and singing.
Bodie  is survived by his step father Curtis Hatcher;  step-mother Margery Hatcher  both of Harlingen, TX; sons Sammy Lee Woods of South Padre Island, TX and Joshua Woods of Kansas City, MO; daughter Chantal Woods of Kansas City, MO; half-sister Carolyn Rinehart of Minden, LA; sister, Glendon Lorrie Remick of San Antonio, TX; half-brother Rodney Spruell of Kansas City, MO; step-brother Ronnie U. Hatcher of Harlingen, TX; step-sisters Marlinda DeCuzzie of Biloxi, MS and Cynthia Joanna Purl of Houston, TX; one granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clarice Hatcher and father Harold Woods.
A celebration of Bodie’s life will be held Monday, November 12, 2012, 1:30 PM, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Rev. Cleos Pete Woodward officiating.  Visitation with the family present will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Cancer Society in your area.
