Jim Rupert passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 in Harlingen, TX at the age of 89 years.
He was born November 8, 1922 in Alamo, TX. After graduating from PSJA High School he joined the Army and served his country in Italy during WWII. Upon coming home he met his bride and the love of his life of 63 years, Louella Perdue, and had three children: Steve Rupert, Nancy (Howard) Lasher, and Tommy (Chris) Rupert. They settled in Harlingen where he owned and operated Rupert Optical from which he retired. He is survived by his children, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Jim was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of the Mormon Church where he touched many lives with his compassion and service to the Lord. He was a member of the Elks where Jim and Lou enjoyed the company of many friends dancing to music.
Viewing will be on February 2nd, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with family present from 6 pm to 8 pm and funeral services to be held at 10 am February 3rd, both at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
