James L. Reed

James “Jim” L. Reed, 79, of Rio Hondo, Texas died on January 31st at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.  He was born July 11, 1938 to Ivan and Myra (Parkins) Reed.  He survived by his wife, Evelyn Wells.  Also surviving are his children from Illinois, Daniel McClure (Florence), Dennis Reed (Kim), Doris Lee (Mark), Dania Welch (Tim), and Darin Reed along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Jim worked as a Vice President and consultant for Southcoast Maritime Corporation.  He previously lived in Mackinaw Valley Park near Green Valley, Illinois and relocated to Texas in 1982.  Jim loved fishing and spent as much time on the water as possible.  He valued his time with his friends.
