HARLINGEN, TX:
James Francis (Jim) Ball, 70, passed away on Tuesday, July 03, 2007 at his residence.  Jim was born April 29, 1937 in Baltimore, MD to James Francis Ball and Minnie Virginia Powell. He owned and operated Jim Ball Realty and Insurance Company.  Jim was a lifetime member of the Shriners and a past president, a 32nd Degree Mason, past president and director of the Lions Club.  He was a lifer in the Gypsy Motorcycle Club of the La Feria Chapter, where he was known as “The Preacher” and serve as a past president.  He was involved in his community through the Gypsy Motorcycle Club providing Thanksgiving meals and Christmas presents for the needy.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Powell; daughter, Priscilla Ciampa; and grandson, Richard “Ricky” Laughlin
He is survived by his loving wife, Nena Ball; daughters, Yvonne Laughlin, Elizabeth (Barry) Barnhart and Yvette (Steven) Phelps; son, Rudy (Doreen) Cantu; grandchildren Stephanie M. Laughlin, Michael N. Laughlin, Delany Skaarer, Shelby M. Skaarer, Joshua Cantu, Nathan Cantu, Jacob Cantu, Nick Burns, Joleen Burns, Bear Barnhart, Chance Barnhart, Christina Ciampa, and Wayne Covington.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007, 2 p.m., at Word Center United Pentecostal Church, 622 E. Jefferson, Harlingen, TX 78550 with Pastor Joel Hammond officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Word Center United Pentecostal Church in Harlingen.
