January 30, 1945 – May 22, 2016

Jack G. Ramsey, Jr., 71, passed away on May 22, 2016 at the Solara Hospital in Harlingen, Texas.

He was born on January 30, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Jack G. and Clarine (Hegseth) Ramsey, Sr. His early childhood years were spent in the Dallas, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana areas.  Jack graduated from Clayton High School, Clayton, Wisconsin in 1963.  He worked local jobs until 1965 when he joined the Andersen Corp team in Bayport, Minnesota.

He resided in the Clear Lake and Clayton area until his retirement in 2000 when he moved to the Trego area and begun enjoying this new chapter of his life.

Because of his love for travel and his dislike for Wisconsin winters, Jack became a winter Texan – enjoying the warmth of his two favorite states year round.

He is survived by his soul-mate, Joan Herum of Trego; daughter Holly (Scott) Cowell;  grandsons Levi (Jocelyn) Ramsey and Tucker Bell; great-grandsons, Melvin, Trey and Isaiah Ramsey, all of Clear Lake; sister Lori (Kris) Wells of Barron; brother Mark (Donna) Ramsey of Spring, Texas; step-mother, Sharon Ramsey of Victoria, Texas and many nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Sr. and Betty Ramsey and Clarine and Melvin (Shorty) Sass and his grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 4-8 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior to service.

Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home of Harlingen Texas assisted the family with the arrangements.
