SAN BENITO, TX. – Ismael Acevedo, Jr. “Smiley”, born on January 25, 1983, left to rest with the Lord at the age of 31 on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at MD Anderson Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Smiley is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Socorro S. Carranza.
Smiley is survived by his family: Yuridia Barrera; his parents, Lourdes and Ismael Acevedo; sister, Marlene; maternal grandfather, Jesus Carranza; and paternal grandparents, Maria Luisa and Irineo Acevedo. Ismael is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of many loving friends.
Visitation will be held today, Sunday, November 9, 2014, between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M., with a recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for seven o’clock Sunday evening.
On Monday, November 10, 2014, the funeral procession will depart the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel at 12:30 P.M., with a funeral service to be held at the hour of one o’clock in the afternoon, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
