Irma Garcia Ruiz

SAN BENITO, TX. – Irma G. Ruiz, age 70, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. She was born on November 23, 1943, in Ramirez, Texas to Juventino and Olivia Garcia.
Irma just recently retired from Los Fresnos C.I.S.D., where she began her career as a teacher in 1972.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juventino and Olivia Garcia, and by her granddaughter, Selma Larraga.
Mrs. Ruiz is survived by her husband, Robert Ruiz; her daughters Erika Ruiz and Jessica (Matthew) Schnupp; her granddaughters Sabine and Seyla Larraga, with a future granddaughter on the way; and by her sisters and brothers Anita, Leo, Hilda, Juventino, Jr., and Adrian, and their spouses, respectively. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, the Ruiz family, and the countless people that loved and worked with her at L.F.C.I.S.D., as well as all of the students whose lives she touched during her tenure there.
Visitation will be held tomorrow, Monday, August 25, 2014, between the hours of 1:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M., with a recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for seven o’clock Monday evening.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, departing the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the hour of ten o’clock in the morning, at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas.
Committal services will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
