Irene B. Zimny

Irene Bialas Zimny was born December 8, 1929 in East Chicago, Indiana and passed away on December 2, 2017 in Cibolo, Texas at the age 87.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Zimny; her parents- Anthony and Mary (Reczek) Bialas, her sister- Florence Staneck and her son-in-law, Jay Eisenbach.

To cherish her memory, Irene leaves behind her daughters and son:  Pam Eisenbach, Cyndi Zimny, Frank Zimny, Jr., Patti Zimny (David Garcia), Kathy Gray, Sherri (Grady) Schmidt; grandchildren- Megan (Altin) Kaftira, Julie (Michael) Rylander, Tiffany and Patryk Zimny-Garcia. Also surviving are great- grandchildren:  Brennan Rylander and Brynn Kaftira and various nieces and nephews.

Irene’s love was for her Family. She had a knack for making the small things in life special. Her celebration of all holidays and her homemade baked treats were infamous.  Her husband would say that she could walk into any room and not know a stranger.  Her passion was nursing. She worked as an RN at Valley Baptist Hospital for many years. She also worked alongside her husband in a variety of businesses, selling RVs and later owning a mobile home park.

Visitation will be at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 beginning at 12:00pm.  The Holy Rosary will be prayed that evening at 7:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, December 7,, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 am.  A private burial will be held for family.
