Harlingen/Diboll, TX: Imelda Castro Buenrostro, 41, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
Imelda was born on February 22, 1968 in Mexico to Esteban and Hilda Castro. She was raised Diboll, Texas and graduated from Diboll High School and then Cosmetology School. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Diboll. She also was a former resident of the Harlingen area.
Imelda is survived by her husband, Homer Buenrostro, Jr.; daughter, Cristina Buenrostro; parents, Esteban and Hilda Castro; sisters, Elva DeJesus (Alfonso), Araceli Martinez (Jaime), Hilda Meza (Hector) and Nidia Martinez; brothers, Mario Castro ( Fina) and Armando Castro (Sara); in-laws, Homer and Antonia Buenrostro, Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM, Friday, January 1, 2010 at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2010 with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Buenrostro, Alfonso DeJesus, Armando Castro, Justin Buenrostro, Guadalupe Buenrostro, and Mario Castro.
Memorial contributions may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas or charity of choice.
