Harlingen:
Frances McMillan, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at her residence in Harlingen.
Frances was born on January 8, 1921 in McAlester, OK to Ben and Rigmor Ezzell. She was a graduate of Harlingen High School. She later taught ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theater to at least three generations of students for over 35 years at the Frances McMillan School of Dance in Harlingen. She was a Past President of the Texas Association of Teachers Dancing, Inc. (TADT) and a member of Dance Masters of America.
She donated time and charity work for the Twelve-Thirty Club and to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. She also was a member of the Algodon Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harlingen for over 50 years.
Frances enjoyed plays, orchestra, ballets, social activities and she enjoyed global travel with her husband James. They visited Germany, Holland, Denmark, Russia, China, Japan, Italy, France, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Columbia, Aruba, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Finland, England, Israel, Turkey, Luxemburg and many other wonderful and exotic places.
Frances is survived by her husband, James L. McMillan of Harlingen; daughters, Karen Frazier of Bellville, TX and Susan Teichmann of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie Becho of Corpus Christi, TX, Majken Pullin of Katy, TX, Conan Teichmann of Amarillo, TX and Jon M. Teichmann of Amarillo, TX; greatgrandchildren, Christoffer Becho of Corpus Christi, TX, Courtney Teichmann of Amarillo, TX, Presley Pullin of Katy, TX, Justin Becho of Corpus Christi, TX, Chris Teichmann of Amarillo, TX, Paxton Pullin of Katy, TX and James Teichmann of Amarillo, TX; nephews, Robb Ezzell of California, Peter Ezzell of California, Michael Ezzell of California and Kent Ezzell of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Benjamin Ezzell.
A memorial service celebrating the Life of Frances will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Harlingen, 1:30 PM, Friday, March 23, 2012 with the Rev. David Payne officiating. Burial services will be private at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
