Helen Crane

August 24, 1913 — September 1, 2007

Harlingen:
Our Mother, Helen Crane, a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, Harlingen, TX, went to Heaven, Sept 1, 2007.  Mother was born August 24, 1913, in Stott City, Missouri, the Proud Daughter of Emery and Charlotte Hill.  Mother’s husband, C.O., our Dad, went to Heaven in September of 1969.  They were married 35 years.  Mom and Dad arrived in the Valley in 1945, with their three daughters.  A son would be born later.  Mother remained in Harlingen for the rest of Her life.
Mother chose to stay at home and raise her family.  She was by all definitions of the word, the perfect Mother.  We all looked forward to dinner each day, knowing that we were in for a treat.  She was a Cook among cooks.  Our necessities were always waiting for us each school morning. Mother had a God Given PhD for raising a family and running a household.  We will miss her dearly.
Mother will exist in our hearts forever.  Her children are Dotty Brunnemann (Tony), Martha Shofner (Berkley), Vicky Kana (Fred), and William Crane (Linda), six grandchildren, Tony Brunnemann, Missy Brunnemann Cassada, Mark Brunnemann, Todd Shofner, Scott Shofner and Kristi Kana Oldham, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Her Family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Abraham Cano, Retama Manor Staff, Sandi Jo Funk Hospice for providing special care for their mother.  A special thank you to her forever friend, Sylvia Ruiz.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Purdy officiating.  Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Brunnemann, Mark Brunnemann, Todd Shofner, Scott Shofner, Gilbert Brunnemann, and William Crane.  Honorary pallbearers will be Missy Brunneman Cassada and Kristi Kana Oldham.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 321 E. Harrison, Harlingen, TX 78550 or the Sandi Jo Funk Hospice, P.O. Box 2588 Harlingen, TX 78551.
