Hector Martinez

Hector Martinez, 52, passed away peacefully in San Benito, Texas on January 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 3, 1972, in San Benito, Texas to Fidencio and Beatriz Y. Martinez. Hector was a proud graduate of South Texas High School.

He was known for his vibrant personality and enjoyed a variety of activities, including playing pool, listening to music, dancing, and traveling with his sisters. Hector cherished the time spent with his friends at Brident Academy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fidencio and Beatriz Martinez. Hector is survived by his siblings, Juanita Perez, Fidencio Martinez Jr., Rosalva M. Leal, Dalia Martinez, Doris Berlanga, Albert Martinez, Rosario Vasquez along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to his caregiver and sister, Rosalva, for her dedication and care over the past 20 years. They also extend their thanks to Gentiva Hospice, as well as Tony and Cindy Gonzalez of Brident Academy, Tropical Texas, and Valley Family Limited for their compassionate care.

The Martinez family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Sunday evening. A funeral liturgy will take place Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Hector will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Larry Leal Jr., Jesse Leal, Bobby Berlanga, Adrian Alaniz, Troy Sanchez, Johnny Chacon, Cesar Berlanga, Fidi Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Fidencio Martinez Jr. and Albert Martinez.
