Guillermo Salinas

Guillermo Salinas, 80, peacefully passed from this life on Sunday, February 6, 2022.  A native of Rio Hondo, Texas, Guillermo was born on September 20, 1941 to the late Rafael and Gregoria Salinas.

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Texas Department of Transportation until his retirement after 33 years of faithful service.

In his leisure time, Guillermo enjoyed working on his yard and ranching.

Guillermo is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alicia C. Salinas, and his parents, Rafael and Gregoria Salinas.

Left to treasure his memory are Guillermo’s children, Theresa (George) Villarreal, Mary Ann Salinas, Patricia Salinas, and Laura (Cleo) Longoria; grandchildren, Victoria (Lupe) Lozano, Angelica Villarreal, Georgeann Villarreal, Dante Zuñiga, Bridgette Longoria, Chloe Longoria, Madisen Treviño; and great-grandchildren, Delilah and Kora Lozano.

The Salinas family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are George Villarreal, Cleo Longoria, Omar Limon, Barry Goldsmith, Dante Zuñiga, and Lupe Lozano.

Funeral services for Guillermo Salinas will conclude at the close of the Mass.
