Guillermo Guajardo

Los Fresnos, TX- Guillermo “Willie” Guajardo, 87, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen.
He retired from Cameron County Pct. 3 in 1990 as a foreman after 33 years of faithful and dedicated service; he proudly served his country during World War II in the US Army.
He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who was respected and a known member of the community especially in the Laurels and the Los Fresnos area. His proudest achievements were his children and grandchildren, whom he loved and lived for.
Guillermo is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca N. Guajardo; his sons, Willie Joe Guajardo and Jesus Guajardo; his grandson, Willie Joe Atkinson; and his parents, Jose and Nieves A. Guajardo.
He is survived by his children, Dolores Torres, Mike O. (Yvonne) Guajardo, James H. (San Juanita) Guajardo, Deborah N. (Kim) Ellis, Nancy L. (Ismael) Atkinson, and Ida L. (Abel) Rodriguez; and his16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos. Interment will follow to Los Cuates Cemetery with military graveside services under the auspices of American Legion Post 205 of Harlingen.
Pallbearers will be Mike O. Guajardo, James H. Guajardo, Kim Ellis, Ismael Atkinson, Mario Guajardo, Jacob Guajardo; honorary pallbearers will be Abel Rodriguez and Christopher Ceballos.
